Board approves minor PUD change for Western Avenue transportation hub to modify west-side loading

The Village of Lisle board on Aug. 18 approved an ordinance authorizing a minor change to the Western Avenue Transportation Hub planned unit development at 4514 Western Avenue to modify the building’s west-side loading area.
Village staff said the change adds additional building access on the west side and replaces some loading base with overhead doors to facilitate truck repair operations; the village engineer reviewed revised trip generation data and found no added roadway impacts.
Director Smetana told the board the PUD had been approved in December and that changes were identified during permitting. Staff recommended approval after the village engineer concluded the modifications would not increase traffic impacts. The applicant had agreed to a 14-foot sound/visual wall along the west property line, a condition the director said would mitigate visual and noise impacts to neighboring properties.
Trustees Duffy, Olson, Grau and Lesniak voted to approve the minor change. No public opposition was recorded during the hearing on the item at the Aug. 18 meeting.
The change was described as nonmaterial to the overall project scope and intended to improve functional operations for the trucking terminal, according to staff remarks.
