The Village Board approved the Aug. 18 consent agenda, which combined routine items and several spending and permitting approvals. The invoice list for Aug. 18 totaled $400,736.78 and was approved as part of the consent package. Other approvals included a resolution authorizing a contract with the Langton Group for siding services in an amount not to exceed $53,730 and a contract for concrete curb and sidewalk replacement with TCD Concrete Works Inc. in an amount not to exceed $71,904.75. The board also authorized issuance of a purchase order for a 30-yard Olympian leaf vacuum from Bonnell Industries Inc. in an amount not to exceed $195,258.80; staff said delivery is anticipated next year and the unit is intended for the 2026 fall leaf collection program. A raffle license was approved for Benedict Kennedy to sell $100 raffle chances beginning Sept. 2, and an ordinance granted a waiver of village code prohibitions on open burning to allow controlled burns by the park district, consistent with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency permit process. Staff recommended approval of items A through I and the board voted by roll call with Trustees Duffy, Olson, Grau and Lesniak recorded as “Aye.”
