School board approves Amendment 2 to superintendent's contract after divided vote

Dr. Green said his vote against the amendment was not a reflection on the superintendent's leadership but stemmed from constituent concerns about health benefits and costs for certain staff, including custodians and bus drivers.
Other board members voiced support for the amendment and for Dr. Robertson's work; the clerk announced the final tally as six ayes and four nays, and the motion passed.
The board did not read the full contract language into the record at the meeting; a board member asked whether the contract before the board was the same version previously briefed, and the chair confirmed it was. The board did not direct additional changes to compensation policy at the meeting.
