The board approved a human-resources package in one reading after a motion by Mr. Haynes and a second by Mr. Dursley; the board completed a roll-call vote with members recorded as voting "Yes." The package covered contract adjustments, support-staff appointments and resignations, and other personnel items presented by district human-resources staff.
During the communications report, Mr. Grigsby said community groups donated to district programs: BRHDA PTO gave $4,073.33 (including $683 for petting snacks, $1,350 for staff appreciation, $1,326 for PBIS prizes, $52 for nursing supplies and $663 for reward-trip transportation); NRAC 3–4 PTO donated $985 from field-day T-shirt sales; ACLC PTA donated $1,302 for teacher appreciation week; and the athletic boosters donated $40,000 to the athletic department.
Under the education report, Miss Saxon presented two agreements for consideration: an amended agreement with the Suburban Health Consortium and an agreement with Murray Bridal Center School to serve students with developmental disabilities in grades K–12. Those items were presented as first readings; the board scheduled second reading and consideration for approval at the Aug. 19 regular meeting.
When Mr. Wagner asked whether the Suburban Health Consortium changes affected district health plans, an unnamed staff member (Andy) said the amendments pertain to consortium bylaws and meeting scheduling and do not change current employee health plans.
A buildings-and-operations item noting a declaration of impracticality and an offer of payment in lieu of transportation to parents or guardians was presented; no additional details or action were recorded during the meeting.
The approvals and donations were accepted as presented; the bylaw amendment and out-of-district placement agreement will return for final consideration at the next regular meeting.
