Putnam County commissioners authorized the commission president on Aug. 26 to sign a grant agreement awarding $27,332 to fund a special domestic violence investigator in the sheriff's department.
A county staff member explained the award came from the Division of Administrative Services, Justice and Community Services section and described it as a grant in the amount of $27,332 to fund the investigator position. The commission moved to authorize the president to sign all necessary grant documents and adopted the motion by voice vote.
The grant agreement was presented at the meeting with signature areas identified for county officials. Commissioners did not discuss budget offsets or ongoing staffing costs at the meeting; the motion authorized acceptance of the grant and execution of the contract documents so county staff can proceed with implementation.
