The Scottsburg Board of Public Works and Safety voted Aug. 27 to approve a services agreement with OHM Advisors for stormwater consulting and public-education resources. The contract is a time-and-materials arrangement with a $7,500 not-to-exceed limit for the city’s work under the agreement.
The agreement covers shared educational materials for stormwater awareness events, yard signs and banners, qualified-professional inspection (QPI) training for construction-site erosion control, help with annual reporting and assistance with inspections. Board members were told the expense was budgeted when the city formed a stormwater program last year.
Board members were also told OHM bills participating municipalities based on population; Scottsburg’s share of pooled program costs is roughly 3 percent of the total for group projects and trainings. The board approved the proposal on a voice vote with no recorded opposing votes.
City staff said the mayor will be authorized to sign the agreement and that funds are available in the stormwater budget.
