Summary
The board introduced and accepted the hiring of Nick Hinojosa as the new boys basketball coach and approved a six-month lease extension with Blue Door Capital to retain office space for special-education staff until Central Elementary renovation is complete.
At the Aug. 19 meeting the Lebanon board confirmed extracurricular hires included in the consent agenda and introduced the district’s new boys basketball coach, Nick Hinojosa.
Superintendent Dr. Milliman and athletics staff introduced Nick Hinojosa, who the district said was hired from Monrovia and will also serve as a special education teacher. Coach Hinojosa said he was “very excited to be the head coach of this program” and that he looked forward to meeting students and starting practice. The hiring was part of the consent agenda approved by the board.
The board also approved a six-month lease extension with Blue Door Capital to continue office space for special-education staff, including the director and assistant director, until the Central Elementary renovation provides permanent district office space. The lease extends occupancy through August (the staff said) to bridge the gap while renovations finish.
Board members thanked the outgoing coach and welcomed Hinojosa. The hire and the lease extension were approved by voice vote as part of routine consent and action items.
