The board approved renewals for Kroger (DL3421305, beer-wine-liquor drugstore), Heritage Lanes (RR3431301, beer-wine-liquor restaurant), Cracker Barrel (RR3436692, beer-wine restaurant), Moe9s River Room (RR3438585, beer-and-liquor restaurant) and Greentown Market (NDL3433978, beer-and-wine grocery store). A board member moved to approve the renewals, another seconded, and the motion carried on voice vote.
The board then considered a new application, DL3434218, for a beer-and-wine grocery permit for 1 Stop Express, a new-construction gas station on Main Street in Rushville. Nick Broyles, representative with Bradford and Riley, introduced the applicant and presented Lakhwinder Singh, one of the owners. Lakhwinder Singh said the business is a new gas station on Main Street and that he was seeking an alcohol permit to "round out the business offerings there."
Board members and staff confirmed that the required public notice sign had been posted and that, under the board9s standards discussed at the meeting, there was no church or school within 200 feet of the property. A staff member clarified that the board enforces a 200-foot property-to-property setback for alcohol permits and that the 1,000-foot rule discussed in the meeting applies to tobacco permits, not alcohol. After those confirmations, a board member moved to approve the application, a second was made, and the motion carried on a voice vote.
Formal votes on both the renewals and the new permit were taken by voice; the board recorded the motions as carried. The board then adjourned.
Action and next steps: staff indicated they will complete the final onsite confirmation following routine post-approval checks. No dissenting votes or conditions were recorded during the approvals.
