Howard County Commissioners approve four subdivision matters, rezone one parcel

Howard County commissioners approved three subdivision plats and a related rezoning request during their Sept. 2 meeting after staff presentations and motions from the commissioners.
Planning staff member Greg Scheelein presented three subdivision cases: Lehi Subdivision, described as a two-lot subdivision at 5580 and 5582 North 250 West; Dirk’s Homestead Subdivision, a one-lot parcel at 7853 East 50 North; and Swisher Farm Subdivision, a one-lot parcel at 548 North 780 East. Scheelein reported there were no remonstrances on any of the three cases. Commissioners moved, seconded and voted “aye” on each subdivision, and each motion carried.
Scheelein also presented rezoning case 2025-BCCO-30, a request to rezone the parcel associated with Dirk’s Homestead from agricultural to rural residential. After a motion and second, commissioners voted to approve the rezoning ordinance.
All subdivision approvals and the rezoning were recorded as approved without a recorded dissent. No additional conditions or amendments were announced in the meeting record.
The approvals followed the staff presentations and included the commissioners’ standard motions and unanimous votes. The meeting record does not specify which commissioners made the motions or seconds.
The county planning staff will file the approved plats and the rezoning ordinance as part of the county land records and zoning files.
