Commission split on public works shed; variance fails to receive positive recommendation

During the roll call, four commissioners voted "nay" on finding number six (the "spirit and intent" finding), while two voted "yes," leaving the commission short of the supermajority that would be needed to forward a positive recommendation. The commission chair said the item "will move forward without a positive recommendation" to the Sept. 2 meeting, meaning the Planning and Economic Development meeting will consider the matter without a favorable recommendation from the commission.
