The Planning and Economic Development Committee voted Sept. 2 to forward Ordinance 30‑25, a zoning map amendment that would change the zoning of 10829 Miller Lane from Agricultural (AG) to single-family residential (R‑1), to the Sept. 15 board meeting with a positive recommendation.
Staff said the parcel is an existing single-family lot of just over three acres that remained zoned AG while surrounding development occurred. The owner proposes splitting the parcel to create a new buildable lot accessed from Edison Road, but the village cannot approve a split if the parcels would remain nonconforming under AG rules. Changing the zoning to R‑1 would permit the proposed division and is consistent with the village’s future land use plan; staff recommended approval. The Planning and Zoning Commission also recommended approval. The committee approved forwarding the ordinance by voice vote; the board will consider final action Sept. 15.
No public comment or questions were recorded during the committee discussion.
