Village Engineer Nick Hart told the Village Board on Sept. 2 that work on the Illinois Route 251 median project is nearing completion and that a separate Illinois Department of Transportation resurfacing project is scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 8.
Hart said a few flagpole bases and sign knockouts remain and that the village expects the local median work to be wrapped up on or about Sept. 11, ahead of IDOT's resurfacing timetable. He said IDOT will start on the south end of the project with saw cutting and patching before moving north.
Hart also updated the board on a separate salt-storage building parking-lot project, saying the parking lot area has been cored and base aggregates placed; crews were digging foundations the week of the meeting and the village anticipated pouring foundations the following week.
Hart's report was delivered as an informational engineering update; no board action, funding authorization, or schedule change orders were recorded in the meeting minutes during this item.
