Board ratifies two student expulsions under West Virginia code and state policy

Board President Mister Wilson announced the superintendent’s recommendation and said the expulsions were in accordance with "West Virginia code 18 a dash 5 dash 1 a and 61 dash 7 dash 2 and West Virginia Department of Education policy 43 73." The superintendent recommended that "Students a and b shall be expelled from Lincoln County Schools."
Mister Cartwright made the motion to ratify the expulsions; Mister Mosteller seconded. The motion carried 4-0.
The board conducted the expulsions following an executive session held earlier in the meeting. Board members said there were no votes taken during the executive session itself and returned to regular session to take the formal ratification vote. No student names or detailed factual findings were read into the public record during the meeting; the board presented the action as a ratification of the superintendent’s recommendation.
