Trustees approve second readings of multiple policies and a consent agenda including personnel recalls and appointments
Summary
On second reading trustees approved policies covering homebound instruction, adult education, class size, textbooks and other items, and unanimously adopted a consent agenda that included minutes, election workers, CSE recommendations and multiple personnel recalls, resignations and appointments.
The board placed policies from the policy committee on a second read and approved them by motion on Sept. 3. The policies approved on second reading covered the 4000 series homebound instruction, adult education programs, class size, textbook selection and adoption, information center resources, computer and network policy, and graduation ceremony policy.
After the policy approvals, the board adopted a consent agenda that included the minutes of the Aug. 27 board meeting, the board goals for 2025–26, approval of election workers for the Emma S. Clark Library budget vote on Sept. 17, committee on special education (CSE) and 504 accommodation plan recommendations, and numerous personnel items.
District personnel announcements presented by Dr. Dabrowski included two sets of recall resolutions for special education aides and teaching assistants who had been affected by prior staffing actions. Instructional personnel changes included seven resignations, five instructional appointments (two teachers and three teaching assistants), and several extra assignments and summer work authorizations. Noninstructional changes included 11 resignations and 12 noninstructional appointments (eight special education aides and four monitors), as well as 14 noninstructional changes in status and several stipends.
Motions recorded at the meeting were moved and seconded; the board recorded no opposition and no abstentions for both the policy approvals (items 11a–11g) and the consent agenda vote. The board adjourned after approving the consent agenda.
