The commission approved on second reading a rezoning and planned-district agreement to permit a hotel and restaurant on about 4.6 acres near West International Speedway Boulevard (agenda item 9c). The ordinance amends the zoning map and adopts a planned-district agreement authorizing the specified hotel and restaurant uses.
Applicant representative Rob Merrill was present; no members of the public registered opposition at the hearing. Commissioners asked staff for brief clarifications and then voted in favor. The motion passed unanimously and the mayor and city clerk were authorized to execute the agreement. The developer must still complete standard permitting and comply with conditions in the plan-district agreement before construction begins.
