The Nashua Zoning Board of Adjustment on June 10 approved a special exception permitting a two‑car garage with an accessory dwelling unit above it at 333 Lake Street. Jonathan and Lisa DaSilva told the board the ADU is planned to house Lisa DaSilva’s aging parents so the family can provide day-to-day care while preserving the parents’ privacy.
The applicants presented plans showing a full second‑floor ADU with a private kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. Board members noted the new construction will reduce existing paved area and fit the character of surrounding houses; one member observed the layout is similar to neighboring two‑story homes and will be visually compatible. The board found the ADU met the special-exception standards in Land Use Code §190‑15 and voted to approve the request unanimously. The board reiterated the 30‑day appeal window.
