The fire department representative said the SimMan — purchased with COVID relief funds by a previous chief — is a modern training device but is not being used regularly by the township and is expensive to maintain. "It's actually up to date. But we're just not using it as it should be," a fire department official said, adding that the simulator is more commonly used by hospitals and training schools.
The trustee who moved the motion said the board would list the simulator with a minimum price in mind and would not dispose of it for less than that figure; if the reserve is not met, the board said it would retain the device. The motion to dispose of the ALS simulator on GovDeals was seconded and approved unanimously by trustees present.
