The Oak Creek Common Council on Aug. 27 voted to award the Meadowview Park rehabilitation contract to Parking Lot Maintenance for an estimated $155,218.60. The project converts two existing tennis courts into two pickleball courts and retains one tennis court, consistent with the city’s recent pattern of park court conversions.
Why it matters: Park improvements reflect changing recreational demand and require capital spending and contractor oversight. The contract award is the step that allows the city to schedule work, obtain construction permits and proceed with park rehabilitation.
Discussion and vote City Engineer/Assistant City Administrator Matt Sullivan summarized the project and said the conversion reflects demand for pickleball across age groups. Councilmember roll call votes recorded affirmatives and the motion passed.
Next steps Engineering staff will work with the awarded vendor to schedule work, confirm technical plans and issue necessary permits. The council recorded the contract amount as an estimated cost and approved the lowest responsive responsible bidder as required by procurement rules.
