Caroline County Public Schools staff on Sept. 8 described a new quarterly assessment calendar intended to make data reporting to the school board more timely and connected to the division's performance framework.
Mister Mudd (division staff) said the calendar was developed after a summer focus group of teachers, administrators and division staff and that the board's first data check-in will be at the October meeting, when the division expects to present the publicly released 2024-25 performance framework and accreditation details. He said fall kindergarten VKRP and Virginia Growth Assessment data will be part of the October update and that CCPS will review individual schoolwide plans once state data are finalized.
Finance and ADM: A finance presenter stepped in for Dr. Friley and reported August revenues and expenditures as part of an update; staff said their annual school report deadline has been extended by the state to Sept. 30. The presenter also gave an early ADM estimate (counting 14 school days in August) and noted adjustments that will remove CSA students (33 students) and regional special-education placements from the ADM calculation. Staff said they would continue monitoring ADM and reconcile county preliminary reports through May with the county finance team.
Why it matters: Board members requested attention to longitudinal achievement data; staff said they will tie data reporting to the performance framework and provide a more detailed presentation at an upcoming meeting. The state extension for the annual school report gives staff additional time to complete that mandated filing.
Ending: Staff will present the quarterly data plan and the 2024-25 performance framework at the October meeting and continue reconciling financial reports with the county.
