Welcoming/Resource Fair: Commissioners debated naming and framing to avoid deterrent language; suggested titles included “Empower and Connect Welcoming Week Resource Fair” and “Welcome to Your City: Resource & Cultural Fair.” They discussed outreach to language communities, school-district partners, and cross-promotion with other city events.
Actions and motions: The commission voted to sponsor a Lynnwood Pride/LGBTQIA+ skate night with a $250 contribution (motion passed). Commissioners also adopted a Children’s Day proclamation by motion. Separately, the commission voted to change its regular meeting start time to 6:30 p.m. and rescheduled the August meeting to Aug. 26.
