Staff to distribute early draft agenda; council schedules strategic planning session for Sept. 18

City Manager's office staff told the Mesa City Council on Sept. 8 that an early draft of the next council meeting agenda would be provided the following day and that the council’s strategic planning session is scheduled for Sept. 18. "Following tonight's meeting, we'll reconvene on Thursday morning here for our next study session. I just want to, alert you all to the fact, normally, this Thursday, we wouldn't be reviewing an agenda because the the 20 second meeting is so far out, but we're gonna have an early draft, to you tomorrow so that we can review that on Thursday morning because the next week on the eighteenth, we're having our, strategic planning session that morning," said Mr. Butler. Butler said the early draft might change and that the council would review the agenda again the Monday prior to the meeting. The remarks were procedural scheduling guidance; the study session transcript contains no additional policy directives or agenda votes tied to the draft agenda or the strategic planning session.
