During discussion, board members asked about permits for fuel handling (gas/diesel) and site-specific permitting requirements. CRA representatives and district staff said building and site permitting typically fall to the general contractor during construction, while state and agency approvals (including the Department of Public Instruction oversight for educational facilities) would be addressed in the project schedule. The proposal packet did list some permitting components as excluded from the base fee, which prompted clarifying remarks during the meeting.
The motion to approve the contract (including the optional service) was made in committee and carried at the full board meeting. Board members also discussed procurement of vehicles and other items in the transportation/maintenance portfolio; separate consent items on the agenda approved vehicle purchases and vendor contracts.
