The Oviedo City Council on Aug. 18 adopted Resolution 4631-25 certifying the city's annual streetlight assessment roll and adopting the annual rate resolution, keeping the assessment at $78.13 per equivalent unit.
City staff said the action is required by state statute and that the city must annually certify the tax roll and hold a public hearing to notify any property owners who are receiving the assessment for the first time. Staff noted there is no change to the city's rate this year.
The city manager and staff explained that private communities that maintain their own streets through homeowner associations continue to receive a discounted assessment. The council conducted the public hearing, heard no public comment, and then adopted the resolution by roll call.
Clerks recorded the ayes and the motion carried. Staff will proceed to certify the assessment roll to the tax collector per the adopted resolution.
