A special magistrate for the City of Oviedo ordered removal of a trailer and a hooked dump can from the driveway at 1077 East Harrison Street and set a compliance deadline of 5 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2025; fines of $25 per day will begin if the property remains in violation.
City Code Enforcement Officer Selena Acevedo presented a 17-page packet documenting an initial violation observed on June 25, 2025, follow-up inspections, courtesy and notice letters, and photographs that show a trailer, a trencher, and later a can/dumpster on the driveway. The magistrate found the city had provided required notices and entered the materials into evidence.
A representative identified in the hearing as Mr. Boston spoke for the respondent, Louise Graham. Boston said the trailer that had been on the right side of the property was moved and that the container now in the driveway is a can/dumpster being used for cleanup. He explained he had contractor equipment on site and moved trailers after receiving notices. Boston acknowledged the can/dumpster had been on the property for about a month and asked for time to move it; the magistrate set the Sept. 15 deadline.
Acevedo’s chronology for the case shows the trailer was first documented on June 25, with a reinspection on July 8 that showed the trailer moved to the driveway but still in violation. The city mailed notices, received a green-card receipt for one certified mailing, and posted affidavits of posting for the notice of violation and notice of hearing. Photographs in the packet include the trailer, trencher, and the can/dumpster.
Discussion only: Mr. Boston explained the trailers and equipment were associated with contractor work and said he relocated equipment to avoid violations; he also said a neighbor contacted police on one occasion. Direction: magistrate ordered removal by Sept. 15, 2025, at 5 p.m. Decision: magistrate found notices sufficient and ordered compliance; fines of $25/day will accrue if not complied with.
The magistrate’s order follows the city’s presentation and Mr. Boston’s acknowledgement that the dumpster/can remained in the driveway. The case will return to inspection after the compliance date.
