North Miami approves $5 million Building Better Communities amendment for Cagney Park

City staff said the amendment updates the city’s BBC general obligation bond funding for park construction; a copy of the agreement was attached to the council report. The action was presented as tab C and passed 5-0 after a brief public hearing in which no members of the public spoke on the item.
A city resident asked to speak after the meeting on a separate tenant matter; staff directed the resident to address the issue during citizen forum. The amendment authorizes the city manager and city attorney to finalize contract language and accept the grant funds consistent with the attached exhibit.
Councilman Charles moved approval; Councilwoman Estime Irvin seconded the motion and the item passed with a 5-0 vote. Staff will proceed to finalize documentation and implement the amendment for construction funding at Cagney Park.
