RSU 14 board approves student readmission and hires a resource-room teacher

The RSU 14 School Board on Aug. 27 carried a motion to readmit a student who had been under consideration and instructed the superintendent to provide the parents with a written summary of the board's findings. The board also approved minutes from its Aug. 20 meeting and approved the appointment of Connor Hayes Hasson as a resource-room teacher at Windham Middle School for the 2025'26 school year.

At the meeting the board chair asked for a motion. One member moved "to approve the student under consideration be readmitted to school and that the superintendent provides the parents with a written summary of the board's findings." A second was recorded. "All those in favor? Opposed? Abstain? Motion carries. Student is readmitted," the chair said; the motion text and outcome were recorded in the meeting minutes but no roll-call vote was provided on the transcript.

Later the board moved to approve the minutes of the Aug. 20 meeting and a motion to "approve the following appointment for the 2025-2026 school year: Connor Hayes Hasson, resource room teacher at Windham Middle School." The motion was seconded; "All those in favor? Motion carries," the chair said.
