Trustees approved Tyler ISD's district improvement plan along with individual campus improvement plans and the related planning process for targets through 2030. The plans were provided to trustees digitally; the administration told the board each campus plan contains performance targets through 2030 and that the plans can be adjusted later.
A trustee moved for approval; the motion was seconded and carried. One trustee announced an abstention during the vote and the president declared the motion carried. Administration said it plans to work with trustees to reset some goals following the board's Lone Star Governance training this summer.
The district noted the plans are part of routine annual governance and campus accountability work and that staff and school improvement officers are available to answer questions about targets and measures.
Because the plans were provided digitally rather than printed, trustees and the public were directed to review the documents in the board packet and to contact administration for clarification or proposed adjustments.
