The Lake Central High School class of 2025 graduated 752 students on May 28, 2025, and school officials announced that 522 of those graduates will continue on to postsecondary education while 73 will enter trades or apprenticeships.
Ashley Klein, guidance department head and master of ceremonies, announced the class totals and honors: “The Lake Central High School class of 2025 has a total of 752 students. 522 of these young men and women will continue on to a post secondary education … 73 of these young men and women will enter a trade or apprenticeship. … 255 of our graduates earned an academic honors diploma. 14 of our graduates earned a technical honors diploma, and 30 graduates earned both an academic honors diploma and a technical honors diploma.”
The class also presented several donations. Ophelia Thomas, senior class president, described the class gift and planned improvements: she said the class will donate bulletin‑board strip for the second and third floor wedges, donate two water bottle refilling stations and make a monetary donation to the incoming freshman class of 2029 to help fund that class’s cabinet.
Principal Erin Novak formally certified the diplomas on behalf of the district. “By the authority vested upon me by the Lake Central School Corporation and the state of Indiana, I certify that the young men and women seated before you have satisfactorily completed the curriculum and all requirements as set by the state of Indiana and the Lake Central School Corporation,” Novak said as students received diplomas.
The commencement included presentations of individual diplomas by school administrators and board members; the ceremony concluded with the traditional moving of tassels to mark graduation.
Community officials, teachers and students noted the mix of postsecondary destinations and vocational placements as indicators of varied plans among graduates. The donations — two water‑bottle refill stations and materials for bulletin boards — are intended for school facilities and to support incoming student leadership.
