Board accepts Koehling PTO donation for outdoor classroom

The Lake Central board approved an $18,143.14 donation from the Koehling PTO to fund an outdoor classroom consisting of five tables with umbrellas at Koehling Elementary.
Mister Leggard, board member, told the Lake Central School Corporation board that he and Mrs. Cruz had worked with the Koehling PTO on a proposed outdoor classroom donation.
"They've been wanting to do an outdoor classroom at Koehling," Leggard said, summarizing the proposal included in the board packet.
Leggard said the PTO proposed purchasing five tables with umbrellas and requested board approval for a donation of $18,143.14 to support the project. "It basically consists of 5, tables with umbrellas, and, they'd like to do a donation for this outdoor classroom in the amount of $18,143.14," he said.
A board member moved approval; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote.
The packet materials in the meeting provided the donation amount and basic description of the planned furnishings; the board approved the donation at the June 30 special meeting.
