Council eliminates Board of Health, amends rules and creates SPET subcommittee with mayor and two council members

The Laramie City Council on Sept. 2 approved several governance changes by unanimous votes. The council passed second reading of original ordinance No. 2,107, eliminating the Board of Health as an official city board, and adopted a resolution amending its rules of procedure to add work-session formatting and a roll-call-order rule. Both measures recorded 7-0 votes.
Separately, the council passed a resolution creating a subcommittee to assist with implementation and renewal of the 2026 specific purpose excise tax (SPET). The council appointed Mayor Cumby, Vice Mayor Richardson and Councilor Lockhart to that subcommittee; the resolution passed 7-0.
