The Baker City Council moved through a series of public hearings and adopted multiple fiscal ordinances affecting the city’s revenue structure for 2025. The council adopted on separate votes: the sales/use tax ordinance (Ordinance 2025‑14), an insurance tax ordinance (2025‑15), an occupational license ordinance (2025‑16), a chain-store license ordinance (2025‑17) and an alcoholic beverage tax ordinance (2025‑18). Each item was presented as a public hearing; staff reported no public opposition at the hearings noted in the record.
Votes were taken by district roll call. Most measures passed unanimously by recorded aye votes. For the occupational license ordinance (2025‑16) a roll-call showed District 1 voted no while Districts 2–5 voted yes; the chair recorded the motion as carried. Council members said the measures were part of the city’s regular revenue ordinances for the coming fiscal period.
Each ordinance will be implemented per the city’s normal revenue collection procedures. Council did not discuss specific changes in rate lines during the meeting beyond adopting the ordinances in the package; staff will publish final ordinance text and collection guidance.
