The Auburn City Council on Sept. 2 approved Resolution 58-51 to declare a 2010 Vactor truck (vehicle 6903C) surplus, following staff comment that the vehicle is at the end of its useful life.
Public Works Director Gaab told the council the truck was purchased in February 2009, has been held for 15 years—about five years longer than the typical replacement cycle—and already has been replaced in fleet service. The vehicle’s value in the packet was listed as $85,000.
Council member Tracy Taylor introduced the resolution and Council member Lisa Sturgis seconded. The council voted in favor and the resolution passed. Staff indicated the truck must be declared surplus before any sale or disposal can proceed; no buyer or disposal method was specified at the meeting.
