Council declares city parcel surplus, approves sale to Zachary and Shawnee Beck

The Auburn City Council on Sept. 2 declared city-owned utility parcel King County parcel number 3341000088 surplus and approved a purchase-and-sale agreement to dispose of the parcel to Zachary D. and Shawnee R. Beck.
Council member Kate Baldwin moved to adopt the surplus declaration (Resolution 58-53); Council member Hanan Amer seconded. After the required public hearing and notice, Baldwin moved to authorize the mayor to execute a purchase-and-sale agreement with Zachary D. and Shawnee R. Beck (Resolution 58-54); Council member Clinton Taylor seconded. Council members voted to approve both resolutions.
Baldwin told the council the purchaser was offering the city fair market value for the parcel and that the city had followed prior resolution procedures and public notice. No additional conditions or contingencies were described during the meeting.
The council record indicates the surplus declaration and sale authorization followed the advertised public hearing and were approved by the council in separate votes.
