Vicki Davis, director of Yukon’s Route 66 Main Street program, said the program’s annual agreement with the Oklahoma Main Street Center has been signed and returned by Department of Commerce lawyers, and that the City of Yukon has been asked to adopt a resolution of support.
“This annual agreement has been signed by our president, and, and we've got that return from the Department of Commerce lawyers. So that's all set,” Davis said.
Davis told the board the resolution of support is the third piece of the three‑way arrangement that includes the state office, the local Main Street program and the city. She said the resolution has been submitted as an agenda request for the City Council meeting on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. and that program board members are welcome to attend “as a show of support.”
No vote on the resolution occurred at the Main Street board meeting; Davis said the item typically appears on the City Council consent agenda but that the council may place it on the regular agenda.
Board members did not take formal action at the Main Street meeting on the agreement or the resolution; Davis’s remarks were a director’s update to inform members of next steps.
Background: the Main Street program’s annual agreement outlines participation between the state Main Street center, the local program and the city. The board was advised when and where the council will consider the city resolution.
The board did not set a formal delegation or ask for a written packet to city council in this meeting. Members were invited to attend the Sept. 9 council meeting in person.
