Commissioners approve several subdivision plats and name private road Harper’s Way

The court approved multiple routine land-use items in a series of uncontested votes. The consent agenda passed unanimously earlier in the meeting. The commissioners opened and closed public hearings with no public speakers and approved an amended plat for Lot 11 in the Dove Landing Subdivision (Precinct 3). The vote to approve the amended plat and related easement matters passed by voice vote with no opposition. The court also opened and approved preliminary plats for the HERA Addition (Precinct 3) and Cloud 9 (Precinct 2). Staff explained the HERA addition was a four-lot subdivision that met county lot-size specifications, and Cloud 9 was a three-lot subdivision located on Mount Pleasant Road with lots “all over two and a half acres” and an existing house on one lot. Both preliminary plats were approved 5–0. Separately, the court approved naming a private road off Prairie Grove Road in Precinct 2 as “Harpers Way.” County staff explained the naming was required once a private road reaches five or more addresses to satisfy 9-1-1 addressing requirements; the family that developed the lots requested the name. The naming passed unanimously. All the land-use items were described as noncontroversial and were approved without extensive discussion.
