The Portage County Board of Commissioners approved a settlement and consent entry for case 2024C v 00012 at the July 31 meeting after convening in executive session to discuss pending litigation.
The board entered executive session under Ohio Revised Code 121.22(G)(3) to confer with its attorney about disputes that are the subject of pending court action; after returning to open session the board voted by roll call to approve the settlement and consent entry. Commissioners Sabrina, Jill and Mike were recorded as "yes."
The prosecutor attended the executive session and the public record shows the board moved to approve the settlement without additional discussion on the public record. The settlement was processed as a formal board action; the transcript records the motion, roll call and an acknowledgment from the county prosecutor.
