Planning commission approves lot line adjustment for Eel River Valley community center

The Fortuna Planning Commission on the evening of the public meeting approved Resolution P-2025-3136 certifying compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and authorizing a lot line adjustment between two adjoining parcels owned by the Eel River Valley Community Foundation to accommodate the Humboldt Senior Resource Center project. Chair Keim called for the vote after a staff presentation and a brief public hearing, and the resolution passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes. The commission’s approval transfers reconfigured parcel boundaries and allows a subsequent property transfer to the Humboldt Senior Resource Center once conditions of approval are satisfied and final documents are recorded.

Staff consultant Michelle Nielsen of Plan West told the commission the adjustment would reallocate land between two contiguous legal parcels, enlarging an existing wetland and habitat parcel from about 1.1 acres to nearly 2 acres and reducing the portion that will contain the senior resource center.
