Superintendent: board backed house budget; teacher pay increase stalled in senate

"We passed a resolution in support of the house budget," Dr. James said, and he credited Representative Todd Carver, Jeff McNeely and Mitchell Setzer for supporting the measure. He told board members the proposal moved in the House but was held up in the state Senate and encouraged board members and community members to contact state legislators.
Dr. James said the district will monitor whether a smaller or interim budget can be passed and that any final action at the state level could affect the district's budget planning for the coming year. He offered no new district budget figures at the meeting.
