Temple ISD recognizes paraprofessionals who completed degree pathway for teacher certification

Temple ISD on Sept. 8 recognized paraprofessionals who completed degree requirements through the district’s Certification Academy, a grow-your-own initiative that pairs district employment with college coursework and certification support.
The district said the program helps paraprofessionals with 60 or more hours of college credit become certified teachers by combining district hiring with academic partnerships. The presenter described partnerships with the American College of Education for degree completion and with iTeachTexas for certification supports. “Tonight, we are so pleased to be able to recognize the first group of CAP program participants to complete their bachelor degree requirements in educational studies from the American College of Education,” the presenter said.
