Temple ISD board adopts 2025–26 district goals focused on academics, behavior, attendance and parent engagement

The Temple ISD Board of Trustees approved the district improvement plan and the district’s goals and performance objectives for the 2025–26 school year at its Aug. 11 meeting.
Doctor Rogers, presenting the plan, said the district’s six goals concentrate on academics, behavior and attendance and include specific performance objectives and strategies. "The first goal, of course, is academics," Rogers said, describing plans to prepare students for graduation and postsecondary opportunities and to implement new HQIM materials.
Rogers and other administrators outlined priorities and lead staff: elementary director Doctor Watson is coordinating teacher training and implementation of Bluebonnet Learning K–5 materials for math and reading; the secondary director, Miss Armstrong, will focus on drilling into data for special populations; and leadership will develop a more robust K–12 gifted-and-talented plan. The plan also calls for continued work on counseling and mental-health supports and a new parent-engagement requirement for campus improvement plans.
Board members moved to approve the district improvement plan. The motion carried by voice vote.
Administrators described timeline and accountability measures: departments and campus leaders developed objectives in spring and summer; implementation will include professional learning, data reviews focused on special populations (special education and bilingual students), and campus-level parent engagement strategies required in campus improvement plans. The board packet includes performance objectives and strategy lists; trustees asked for follow-up reporting on progress and outcomes during the school year.
