Wakefield School Committee — Administrators announced several internal hires and role changes during the Aug. 12 meeting, naming interim leaders to cover vacated roles and new curriculum coordinators.
The superintendent told the committee that Shannon Blacker had been hired as interim assistant director of special education and that Aaron Mansey would fill an interim assistant principal role following internal movement. The committee was also told that Marguerite Agambaran, previously the elementary STEM curriculum coordinator who served as interim assistant principal in the spring, has been appointed assistant principal at Woodville full time. The district appointed Lisa Tibbetts to the newly created elementary STEM curriculum coordinator role; she previously served as an elementary STEM coach and math teacher at Galvin.
Administrators described internal staffing moves intended to develop leaders within the district. The committee also heard that the district added an additional elementary special education coordinator position: Danny Farrow will cover Woodville and Greenwood special education coordination, and Katie Provost — hired from Gloucester — will split duties at Dolbear and Walton.
Administrators said these moves were intended to strengthen case management, parent communications and student support in special education and to provide continuity as other leaders took on new roles.
No formal committee vote was recorded for these personnel announcements; they were presented as hires and internal assignments during the staff reports section of the meeting.
