Woodbridge board approves superintendent's 18-item agenda and multiple committee bundles

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. ' The Woodbridge Township Board of Education on Aug. 14 approved the superintendent's 18-item agenda and a series of committee recommendation bundles covering curriculum, finance and insurance, personnel, safety and security, dining and transportation, communications, and equity. The board also met in closed session earlier in the evening to discuss personnel and privacy matters. The approvals came by formal motions and roll-call votes. The superintendent, Dr. Massimino, presented 18 items; Mr. Trebwasser moved to adopt the superintendent's recommendations and Mr. Delapitro seconded the motion. The roll call recorded unanimous "yes" votes by board members present. The board separately adopted committee recommendations presented that evening: the Communications, Policy and Planning committee (seven items); the Curriculum, Extracurricular Activities and Technology committee (11 items); the Finance and Insurance committee (13 items); the Safety and Security committee (one item); the Dining and Transportation committee (10 items); the Equity Commission committee (one item); and the Personnel committee (21 items). Each committee motion was moved and seconded and approved by roll call. Board members followed standard meeting procedures required by state law. The board secretary read the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Law notice at the meeting's start. The board moved into closed session, citing the Sunshine Law/Open Public Meetings Law exemption for personnel and privacy matters; minutes noted that any information to be released will be published when the reason to keep it confidential no longer exists. On the business side, the secretary reported that no bids were received prior to the meeting. The finance committee's consent bundle included routine items listed on the agenda, including payment-of-bills and capital and food-service invoices shown on the agenda as approval items. The meeting then opened for public comment and concluded after the public comment period and final motions to adjourn.
