Board approves $33,701.27 change order to extend Plaza Drive sidewalk

The Board approved a change order Monday to extend an existing sidewalk on Plaza Drive to improve pedestrian access between the condominium complex and the plaza. Mister Dunn described the area as lacking sidewalks eastbound from the development through a pronounced S-turn and recommended adding sidewalk on the east side to Dr. Wells’ driveway, after which the road widens and sidewalks are not required. The change order to Wallace Construction was presented in the amount of $33,701.27; a board member moved approval, another seconded, and the motion carried on a voice vote. Dunn said the contractor’s per-yard price remains the same and work can be added while crews are in the area; no alternate funding source or construction start date was stated.
