The Richland County Veterans Service Office presented its quarterly report at the Aug. 25 Executive Finance Committee meeting and said a change in reporting format has delayed availability of the geographic distribution (GDX) numbers for 2024.
Staff told the committee that the state changed the GDX format and that the 2024 numbers will not be ready until 2026. In lieu of more recent figures, staff cited historical totals: about $14,000,000 in veterans-related funding and services brought into the county in 2022 and $15,500,000 at the end of 2023. Staff also said the office planned outreach at the county fair.
Committee members had no substantive questions during the brief report and staff did not ask for action. The delayed GDX figures mean the committee will not have state-distributed, formatted 2024 totals available until the state completes the new reporting format, staff said.
