Downtown Development Board approves first reading of 0.97 mills millage rate

The Clearwater Downtown Development Board approved the first reading of a resolution establishing a millage rate of 0.97 mills for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2025 and ending Sept. 30, 2026, and scheduled a second reading for Sept. 17, 2025, at 5:15 p.m. Chair called the item and the board voted unanimously to approve the first reading. Jesus Munoz, CRA executive director, told the board there were "no real changes" from its prior discussion and requested approval of the first reading and scheduling of the second reading. A resolution reading was placed on the record before the motion. The board moved and seconded approval and recorded an aye vote with no opposition. The action taken was approval of the first reading of Resolution 25-02; the board set the millage rate and scheduled the second reading and final vote on Sept. 17, 2025. No members of the public spoke on the item during the meeting. The board did not direct additional study or changes at this session; the matter will return for the statutorily required second reading and final adoption on the scheduled date.
