The City Council voted to approve resolution 25-062 authorizing a contract with Quality Controls Corporation to integrate existing wastewater treatment equipment with recently installed system components.
A staff presenter told the council the contract is intended to ensure someone familiar with the city’s system handles the integration work. “It’s a contract where, with all the improvements out of the wastewater treatment plant, to get our existing equipment to talk to the new component of everything,” the presenter said, adding that contract terms were agreed in 2024 and the contractor has now begun work.
Council members asked whether the cost was budgeted. The presenter said the cost is funded with a grant. The council moved, seconded and approved the resolution; the recorded vote was "Aye." No amendment to the contract or financing terms was made at the meeting.
The contract was presented as a technical integration task tied to an ongoing improvement project at the wastewater treatment plant; staff noted the work should ensure compatibility between new and existing equipment and that the contractor chosen had prior familiarity with the plant.
