Board approves Culver's site release orifice reduction from 4 to 3 inches

Petitioner representatives told the board on Sept. 2 they seek approval for a Culver's restaurant site in Whiteland that includes reducing the outlet orifice from 4 inches to 3 inches for stormwater release.
Chris McGuire of Macon Building Corporation said the proposal maintains on-site storage sized for a 100‑year event using underground storage and some above‑ground storage; the change to a 3‑inch orifice is intended to control release rates. "The essence that we're asking for this evening is, for the release from a new potential Culver's site in Whiteland... changing the size of the orifice for the release from a, 4 inch down to a 3 inch," McGuire said.
Surveyor Cantwell reported the site had been reviewed by the county's outside engineer with a recommendation of approval and that the discharge location is outside the easement but drains to the ditch. A board member moved to approve the request; the motion carried.
Ending: The board recorded approval subject to the conditions recommended by staff and the outside engineer; no further modifications were discussed at the meeting.
