Crown Point City Council voted unanimously Sept. 2 to adopt petitions to annex three commercial parcels on the city’s east side and to read related annexation ordinances by title only for second reading.
City fiscal analyst Greg (presenting the fiscal plan) told the council the annexations are commercial/industrial in nature, that the five-year fiscal projections provided by the developer show a net positive impact to city revenues, and that the fiscal plans assume assessed values will ramp up over two to three years after construction. "This annexation is largely commercial," Greg said, adding the firm’s five-year summary shows a surplus and recommending approval.
