Board approves updated phone-system lease after financing company change

The City Board on Wednesday approved an updated lease for the city's phone system after the vendor switched the financing (lessee) company. Board members voted to accept the contract update as presented.

City staff said the vendor changed its financing company but that service and the underlying contract terms remain the same. Kristen, the staff member who presented the item, described the filing as an update to the contract approved July 9 and said the change was a swap of the leasing company only.

Board members asked whether city legal reviewed the change. A board member asked if legal was “good with David,” and the meeting record shows no further legal concerns were raised before the board moved and voted to approve the update.

The board approved the motion without additional conditions.
