Selma planning commission elects Greg Garcia as chair, Betty Standridge as vice chair

The Selma Planning Commission reorganized its leadership at the start of Tuesday's meeting, approving Greg Garcia as chairperson and Betty Standridge as vice chair.

A commissioner nominated the two and the commission approved the nominations by roll-call vote of the members present. The reorganization was procedural and was enacted by motion; commissioners present recorded affirmative votes and the motion was announced as approved.

Chairing duties for the remainder of the meeting were handled by Vice Chair Standridge, who presided over the public hearing on the Selma North annexation and prezoning later in the agenda. The commission also noted that Commissioner Kistler was absent and that Commissioner Garcia was participating from a location that was not publicly noticed; staff stated that under the Brown Act Garcia participated in the meeting as a member of the public rather than as a remote commissioner.
